“The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022” & “Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order: 2005 (RRO)” require regular checks for fire doors to ensure that self-closing devices are working and the fire doors including flat entrance doors are in efficient working order and in good repair. These checks are to ensure that the existing door standard is maintained.

Nationwide Fire & Security Ltd have NAFDi Advanced accredited fire door inspectors to provide a full site wide assessment of all fire doors.
Following inspection of doors a detailed report will be provided with a summary of all the non-compliant items on site. Following inspection Nationwide Fire & Security Ltd will provide costs to rectify the fire door works.
Buildings are divided into compartments, protecting escape routes within the building i.e. corridors.
For non-domestic and commercial buildings, buildings are reviewed in two sections, Horizontal & vertical evacuation of people within. is simply the process of evacuating all residents of a multi-level building using flights of stairs.
Horizontal evacuation provides safe passage across the floor level away from a fire, vertical evacuation provides safe passage through floor levels away from fire. This can only be achieved safely via secure compartmentation which fire doors are a critical part off.
In buildings with sleeping occupants above two levels, all doors leading to the stairwell’s, through compartment walls i.e. flat entrance doors must be a fire door.
