Smoke detector maintenance

Smoke and heat detectors require inspection twice a year

It is your responsibility as a business owner to ensure the fire alarm system is tested once a week and that everything is checked diagnostically at least twice per year.

At Nationwide we are able to provide comprehensive fire alarm maintenance packages.

If you are in the design phase of a new build project or retrofitting an existing non domestic property, fire and security systems should be planned out from the beginning.

We can provide a full fire risk assessment to identify areas which may require replacement or additional fire detection equipment.

Aspirating fire detection

Used where highly sensitive, rapid smoke detection is required, an ASD systems can detect fires significantly faster than point or beam smoke detectors enabling a fast response to the first signs of smoke, often before the fire has begun to smoulder visibly.

ASD systems comprise of a central detection unit, which is connected to other rooms via pipework, which continuously samples the air in chosen rooms for any sign of smoke.

This type of detection is usually provided where early detection is particular vital to mission critical and high-risk applications.
